A few words about the Villages.
Malaxa is a small village on an elevated plateau on the feet of the White Mountains of Crete. It is located south of the village (and the harbor) of Souda, at a distance of 8 km from Chania city. Malaxa consists of a number of scattered houses, some of which have been masterfully renovated, and some villas that were built during recent years. What makes Malaxa stand out is its magnificent view over Souda bay. The village is also known for its traditional taverns with Cretan dishes.
Aptera is a very unique village, situated on an elevated location on the south part of Souda Bay, overlooking the whole bay and the Apokoronas plains. It is obvious that this strategic location is linked with a very rich history. First of all, the name “Aptera”, meaning “without wings” in ancient Greek, has an interesting story behind it. On this spot, in ancient times, there used to be a center for the musical arts with a big temple dedicated to the Muses.
According to ancient Greek mythology, the Sirens challenged the Muses to a music competition in the temple, but in the end the Sirens lost, and they were so sad, that their feathers fell off into Souda Bay, leaving them wingless, or “aptera”.

We were so glad we found Apostolis and his great bike hire/tour company. Apo picked us up from our hotel and rode with us up the Theriso Gorge. 12km upwards but e-bikes made it easy. Great views at the top, then lunch and honey tasting on the way down (all included - as were the meetings either goats). Overall a great morning out. If you just want to hire a bike (e-bike or road bike) Apo can give you the best routes to take. He also gave us several good restaurant recommendations.
Your Point e bike rental on Chania Greece was excellent. Fabulous communication throughout the entire process, your in the gorge was beautiful, bikes are top notch, and owner was very informative and fun to be with. I’d highly recommend this as a great experience in Chania!!
Highly recommend. Did tour 2 which lasts about 3 hours. Long uphill with beautiful views and with the ebikes it is as easy as you choose for it to be. Honey tasting and snacks in a restaurant in a very pretty village. The guide Apo, is super friendly, helpful and easy going. Offers to pick you up and drop you off which is super convenient. 5 stars in all categories.

My husband and I went on two e-bike trips with Tour-Point. Our first trip was tour number 3 according to Tour-Point's brochure, which went up and down the Therisos Gorge to a fantastic viewpoint overlooking the Cretan landscape. Along the way, we got to experience the authentic Cretan countryside and stunning nature, including friendly goats along the road. It was an exotic nature experience, and completely different from the nature we are used to back home in Northern Norway. The trip with our pleasant tour guide and owner, Apostolis, left us wanting more. Just a few days later, we signed up for another tour, which once again took us through beautiful Cretan scenery to the Aptera fortress built by the Ottomans. The tours were very well-organized, including pickup and return to our hotel. We didn't need to bring anything ourselves except for clothes; we were provided with water and an excellent lunch during the trip. We highly recommend the tours with Apostolis and Tour-Point!
Very good service. Bikes and gearing were very good. Delivery and pick-up at the hotel at the desired time. They also provided some good tips and routes (gpx-file). Top service!!!
Very organized..top quality de bikes.. very helpful in choosing the tour...very easy to return the bike.. we did 2 rides 55 km 800 m easy going..
Great service, would recommend! My partner made an error with the booking date, Apo was very flexible and managed to sort us bikes at short notice, even dropping them off at the cruise terminal for us. The bikes were in good condition, lock and helmets provided. He showed an interest in where we were going and took time to plan us a new route (as chat GPT had told us to go a hazardous and not suitable route). There is a fair bit of road cycling if you ride from Souda to Chania so bear in mind if you are not confident.
Très belle excursion en compagnie d'Apostolos qui est très professionnel et prend soin de chacun des participants en adaptant parfaitementle rythme. Le matériel est d'excellente qualité et parfaitement entretenu. Le tour n°2 permet de profiter des paysages sublimes des montagnes blanches et de panoramas extraordinaires. La logistique planifiée permet de visiter une fortification et de déguster des produits locaux dans une excellente taverne familiale. Tout est parfaitement organisé avec un guide qui s'attache à donner de précieuses adresses locales pour profiter pleinement du séjour. Je recommande très fortement cette activité et profiterai à nouveau des services d'Apostolos pour un autre circuit!
Highly recommended! The service was excellent from start to finish. The bike I received was practically brand new and in perfect condition. They also recommended great cycling routes and helped me mark and plan them. The entire service was reliable, friendly, and highly professional. I had a fantastic experience and would definitely rent from them again!
