A few words about the Villages.
Malaxa is a small village on an elevated plateau on the feet of the White Mountains of Crete. It is located south of the village (and the harbor) of Souda, at a distance of 8 km from Chania city. Malaxa consists of a number of scattered houses, some of which have been masterfully renovated, and some villas that were built during recent years. What makes Malaxa stand out is its magnificent view over Souda bay. The village is also known for its traditional taverns with Cretan dishes.
Aptera is a very unique village, situated on an elevated location on the south part of Souda Bay, overlooking the whole bay and the Apokoronas plains. It is obvious that this strategic location is linked with a very rich history. First of all, the name “Aptera”, meaning “without wings” in ancient Greek, has an interesting story behind it. On this spot, in ancient times, there used to be a center for the musical arts with a big temple dedicated to the Muses.
According to ancient Greek mythology, the Sirens challenged the Muses to a music competition in the temple, but in the end the Sirens lost, and they were so sad, that their feathers fell off into Souda Bay, leaving them wingless, or “aptera”.

Apos dropped off the bike at our villa, made sure I had everything I needed, and then texted me a recommended 40-50 km route each day based on how far I wanted to ride and what I was interested in. Snel geregeld, erg leuke tocht gemaakt. We huurden 2 e-bikes voor een dag. Ze werden de dag ervoor aan ons hotel geleverd. Appo gaf tips mee voor een leuke tocht en zette een route op onze gsm, met tips om iets te gaan eten enzo. Erg leuk! Een aanrader om Kreta op een andere manier te verkennen!

We had a wonderful time on the e-bike tour in Chania! Our guide was incredibly friendly, patient, and made us feel comfortable from the very beginning. He picked us up right at the cruise port and drove us to the starting point in a beautiful village.We chose Tour 1 and the e-bikes made it easy and enjoyable. Along the way, he treated us to some delicious Greek snacks at a local café, and after the ride he took us to Old Town, where he recommended excellent Greek restaurants and a great ice cream shop by the waterfront. We never felt rushed and had a fantastic experience. We highly recommend this tour!

A must do when in Chania. I always belive it's best to start a vacation in a new place with a guided tour, and a bike tour is just perfect. Get to see some nice views and then get some locals insights. Apo is a great guy and passionate about what he's doing. The bikes were great and the tour trough Therisos Gorge was excelent, with some shade and goats and good honey. Highly recommend.

We were a family group of 6 adults and did Tour 1 adding a visit to a winery at the end. The electric bikes made cycling very easy in the hot weather and we loved cycling along quiet roads and lanes surrounded by beautiful scenery. Apostolis was a great host, taking us to a cafe for refreshments and ensuring we always had plenty of water. We also all enjoyed the wine tasting! All round it was an excellent day out and we would thoroughly recommend it to others.
